We're baaaack!

So now I have been at University of Washington for over 8 weeks now. Its been horribly long and I don't think I'll ever get the chance to return to normal life again. I have been institutionalized by the University, and it sucks. Anyways, here is a summary of my experience in the REAL WORLD LOLOLOLOZ:

-University of Washington has a shitload of money and is like one of the most respected schools in the nation.. why in the sam hell do I have to pay 10 cents for printing? No seriously, whats up with that? Clark didn't make me pay. And why do we have no wireless in the dorms? EXPLAIN PLZ.

-Clark College is NOTHING like UW when it comes to difficulty... seriously. Ok, Dr. Craven is insanely hard and you can't make Physics or Chemistry "easy" but for everything else its a joke to compare. People though Fulbright was alot of work? Fulbright gave me like 50-80 pages reading per week, I get 200+ a week from my Viet Nam Wars class and it isn't even upper level! And I know it isn't the only one that is like that. How crazy.

-I also discovered that the whole "100 people per class!" warning is a joke. Even in the classes with many people, it really isn't a big deal. My Professors are pretty accessible anyways. Not to mention, the upper level classes are pretty small. And trust me, nothing makes getting to class easier then having a cute TA instead of some 50 year old German guy.

-Korean and Greek food are the works of the gods. DO NO QUESTION ME!

-For some reason, I do better with girls when I don't even do anything. Seriously, every time I try to be brave and be impressive with girls I look like an idiot. But when I do nothing, they automatically get attached to me. WTF?! Maybe I should take this as a tip or something...

-LaRouche people are the most annoying people in the history of man. No hyperbole. Look them up, or come to the UW campus if you don't believe me. Its like a running gag here.

-Asian girls have the oddest fashion tastes I have ever seen. I mean, I like the fact you girls are wearing skirts and short shorts in winter but why the heck must you cover them up with leggings or super high boots? Whats the purpose of wearing a skirt then?! I am so confused.

-Moment I relized I was living the college life: Doing homework while listening to Teen Age Riot

-Second moment where I realized I was living the college life: Throwing up after drinking to much at a frat party.

-I have got a sudden obsession with Japanese music. And no it isn't that dancy JPop (IE Ayumi) or crappy Visual-Kei crap *gets killed for dissing visual-kei*. I'm talking about Judy and Mary, Bonnie Pink, and the Brilliant Green. HELL YEAH

-I am coming home on the 9th of March.. BOOK IT! Then I leave that Monday :(

-Finally, my new schedule for Spring squarter is:
Japanese Civilization
Modern Korean History (w00t! Korean nationalism here I come)
Asia in Globilization (I might change this to Political Economy though as soon as they let me register for it!)

Well... ja ne

shishbang!

-My career at Clark is officially over.. and it ended in a wimper. A really sad wimper too, I forgot one part of my final for History and I disliked my essay. I might lose my A in that class, oh well :(

-Tomarrow I am going to UW to do my A&O thing. Silly me, I also had a MUN dinner tomarrow at 6 pm and the A&O apperantly lasts until 4:30. Which means I am probably going to miss the final moments with my MUN homeboys :(. Oh well, I'm actually thinking of just throwing a get together before I leave at some restraunt (Probably that Korean one I heard about) with just my friends. I'll have to see if anyone likes me enough to go. And all my beloved blog readers (all one of you) are invited. YAY

-Oregon accepted me as well. They also think I am going there. Poor bastards.

-My reign of history club president is over. And it sucked. ok, I take that back. We actually did stuff but lack of members and interest suck. I hate people who sign up and never show up again. SCREW YOU ALL. We also won't go to the Dead Sea Scrolls since I can't get my contacts together. Damnit :( Oh well, atleast its over. I'm a sucky President anyways

-I'm really indifferent towards the FFXII battle system. It just seems... dissapointing. It really doesn't add THAT much depth or originality to the gameplay. I still spend most of the time button pressing though much less freakingly and waiting around. They did somehow manage to figure out how to fix ally AI and pretty much remove loading times but... I don't know. Its not a bad system, its still enjoyable. But after so much hype I expected more then just a boosted .Hack system. A Star Ocean system with competent AI and balanced difficulty.. Now that be one HELL of a game.

-Also, is it me or is the FFXII difficulty system really really unbalanced? Going through dungeons is a breeze (you can essentially heal yourself infinitly), but boss fights are freaking hard. Don't make me start on those "HOLY ****! Why the hell is thet random enemy 500x stronger then my characters?!" moments either.

-"Little Miss Sunshine" is really really funny. See it NOW.

-I want a light blue beret.

-I'm going to Canada next month. Anybody need to sneak across the border?

Waterboard me!

So I got accepted into the University of Washington. Of course, I still can't register because they are gaE and I have to wait while all the classes I like and need are filled up. I can't finish my math credit for example because Statistics is almost filled. Screwy people.

Of course, the ramifications on the future of 2nd year Japanese is large at Clark is large. Will they have enough people to finish the whole year? Who is going to entertain Heather in class? Who will officialy take my spot as "teacher's pet" (And the worse one in the history of Earth)? As for me, I'm waiting next year to finish 2nd year. I'm sucking it up this year, and they have a different textbook. It'll give me time to relearn vocab and kanji and be the kickass Japanese student I occasionally show potential to be. Or I'll switch to Hangul and become a Korean-American wannabe.

I got Valkyrie Profile II and FFXII recently and tried to play both before school raped me of my dignity. VPII is interesting, if somewhat scary. FFXII is hell alot better then FFX-2 which I can never play more then a one day because the idea I have to do every little ****ing thing to see the good ending pisses me off. I hate you Square-Enix.

Sucky movie Sunday...

The Covenant

The Covenant is an epic tale of a handful of high schoolers with magical powers that allow them to imitate their favorite characters on Dragonball Z. The downside is that with these powers, you age must faster. This probably explains why these 17 and 18 year olds look like 30.

These powers also have other amazing abilitites as well! You can shower and sleep with makeup on, switch in and out of t-shirts with scene changes, have complete lack of body hair, survive being thrown threw glass, and have incredible six packs! Also for some odd reason noone notices when the main character repairs their windshield RIGHT IN PUBLIC or major fights that involve kids being thrown into dorm walls or stuff like that. Apperantly they all have selective hearing or something.

All these kids live in a strict boarding where kids are free to run around all night, pick fights in school, and go to bars even though being underaged. Best of all, apperantly there has been some major genocide in this area since everyone is naturally dark haired. No blondies or redheads in this one! And the only minority is the not-so black chick who almost dies! No Korean love though :(

Everything is ruined when some random douche decides to take the main sexy guys powers. Why? Because he's power hungry and evil. He apperantly has other issues since he is unable to talk without sounding like that one high guy I met on the subway. Poor guy.

Strength:

The acting and writing is incredible. At the end of the movie you really feel for rich-pretty guy's inner anger against his parents for buying him a silver convertable instead of a red one...

Ok I lied. There is nothing good about this movie. Now go away and stop reading my bad attempt to be funny.

Weakness:

Noone dies. WTF!?!?!!11 >:o

The Wicker Man (2006)

This movie is so bad, I don't even want to review it. All I say is this; after you watch it you'll be confused for 30 minutes. After that you'll quickly figure out what actually was happening and then cry because the plot was dumber then you actually thought and lose all faith in God. Yeah its that bad. It turned me into a Evangelical Christian into a god-hating Athiest. THANK YOU NEIL LEBUTE FOR SENDING ME TO HELL!

Strength:

Nicolas Cage dies *WARNING SPOILERS: YOU JUST READ A SPOILER*

Weakness:

Who the hell wrote this shit? The actors in this movie are actually pretty good, but they come off as complete druggies because of the script. Kate Beahan couldn't even speak one whole line without trailing off or sound like she is about to cry. I'm surprised Nicolas Cage didn't burst out laughing after the 523423rd time his character claimed he was a cop and threatend to use legal force in a area that is out of his JURISDICTION. And there are the 500 flashbacks to some random girl being ran over that ends up serving no purpose other then pissing me off. Or the fact that the entire premise of the movie is just balony. Or the fact that there is no cleavage :(

Why do I make things harder for myself?

For my East Asian History class, we were required to find a news article and then make an essay on the background of the article. Some people found some pretty neat subjects to talk about, from Tibet/Chinese problems to the international trading of chopsticks. I decided to do my article on the new Japanese Prime Minister and decided to do my research subject on Japanese nationalism. How am I doing? Well just look at this:

Four hardcore books there! I also have a e-book, 3 multipage articles (including one that is 18 pages), and a gale reference source. Yeah, Japanese nationalism is a pretty freaking huge topic apperantly. And its not just "the Emperor is descended from the Sun Godess!" either! I have to research confuniacism, imperialism, fascism, kokugaku, and some stupid dog. With this, my MUN thing (which is another issue), History Club (ASFAFASF), and college issues; November is going to be a miserable month.

Oh, and here is evidence number 342972394 that Capitalism doesn't work:

This 300 page book is worth $50 on amazon. Yeah, 50 smack-a-roos. Why? Only Dr. Pyle knows (maybe I'll ask him in person when I transfer to UW, since he teaches there).
